Wakar Damina Mai Albarka Ta Alhaji Akilu Aliyu (Daga Ratayen Littafin Cimakar Hausawa)

Kafilun, ishi bayinka,

Ka ishe ni da girmanKa,

Ka faɗi na kiraye Ka,

Ka ji na faɗi sunanKa,

Kai da kaya duk naKa.

 

Rabbana, Ka yi min buɗi,

Nai nufin wani ɗan taɗi,

Wanda babu ciki murɗi,

Damina in ta faɗi,

 Duk mu ka san albarka.

 

Kar na kai magana nesa,

Duk abin da ya bunƙasa,

Yadda duk ya birinƙinsa,

Damina ce farkonsa,

Tun da dai asali shuka.

 

Damina in ta bauɗe,

Al’amurra sun ruɗe,

Arzuka sun guggurɗe,

Duk dabaru sun murɗe,

Warware su akwai shakka.

 

Damina, ba don ke ba,

Da ba a ci, ba a sha ba,

Har a nemi hawan daba,

Duk a ba a yi waɗannan ba,

 Ban da kin yi ruwan shuka.

 

Damina babban maki,

Kyan cikinki da bayanki,

Duniya duk ta so ki,

Ba ta kuri sai naki,

 Damina mai albarka.

 

Damina na gaishe ki,

Nai kirari dominki,

Wanda ya gwada ƙyamarki,

Yai abin ban mamaki,

 Ke ka zub da ruwan shuka.

 

Marhaban da isowarki,

Mun ji daɗin saukarki,

Sai mu ce miki, lale ki,

Godiyarmu da ke ninki,

 Damina mai albarka.

 

Gargaɗina, al’umma,

Duk mutum in ya kama,

Ya wuce a yi mai gama,

Sai ya sami abin homa,

 Har da ɗimbin albarka.

 

Mai hatsi ba ya yunwa,

Mai isa ba ya tsiwa,

Gaskiya ba ta gwiwa,

Murmushinka da ban shawa,

 Damina mai kyan fuska.

 

Allah bai wa damo gashe,

Arziki, shi ya mai tushe,

Daminarmu ta yo halshe,

Har fari shi mace mushe,

 An yi mai mugun duka.

Ya Mudabbiru, ya Allah,

Kai Ka gyara ma’amalla,

Mun yi roƙo, ya Allah,

Kyauta kome duk jimla,

 Damina ta yi albarka.

 

To maza, na ce, “Hayya!”,

Duk a zabura, ai niyya,

Karkara, da na alƙarya,

Kowanenmu ya shisshirya,

 Duk mu wa rani duka.

 

Zamani yau ya juya,

Yanzu noman fartanya,

Ya ƙaranta cikin dunya,

Injunanga na kimiyya,

 Su ya kyautu mu ɗaɗɗauka.

 

Don mu je mu yi ayyukka,

Sassabe ya zuwa shuka,

Yau ƙasashen Afrika,

Duk yawanci sun farka,

 Ba gayauna, sai eka.

 

Yanzu noman zamani,

Bincike fanni-fanni,

Ɗan ƙasarmu, shigo ƙarni,

Kwashi takin zamani,

 Bunguɗa shi a gonarka.

 

In da hali, sai mota,

Nem ta noma, tarakta,

In da hali ya ƙanƙanta,

Ko haya ma karɓo ta,

 Don ka aikace gonarka.

Ga nasiha na ƙyafe,

Na bi kome na tsefe,

Kar mu yarda zama gefe,

Mai kuɗi shi ne kyafe,

 Wanda ke da abin harka.

 

To, mutan Nijeriyya,

Na sako babbar murya,

Nai kira don soyayya,

To, mu bai maraɗa kunya,

 Masu ƙin mu da albarka.

 

Damina in ta kama,

ƙoƙarinmu shi kankama,

Sai rago, marashin himma,

Zai nadama sau goma,

 Don ƙarancin albarka.

 

Yau mutum mai son aiki,

Mai yawan halin kirki,

Tun da rani, sa taki,

Ka ga alheri ninki,

 Daminarka da albarka.

 

Taimako, wane tawul!

Dauriya, ya ta ki-bawul,

ƙamsasa, wane jawul!

Zan daɗe mu garambawul,

 Kan batun mai-albarka.

 

Damina, ke ce Inna,

Mu, zuwanki muke murna,

Don kadan har kin zauna,

Duniya ta amfana,

 A wadatu da albarka.

In ƙasa ta busanta,

ƙeƙasa ta same ta,

Har ta zo ta ƙishirwanta,

Wa akan aiko gunta?

 Damina mai albarka.

 

Sai ta zo kuɓutashe ta,

Girgijenta ya shashe ta,

Tai ado ya irin nata,

Shuke-shuke da tsirranta,

 Sun cika ta da albarka.

 

‘Yan uwa sai mun gana,

Zantukan da na zazzana,

Ya kamata ku a’auna,

Kila ko ma amfana,

 Babu cikas, ba suka.

 

Nune-nune na nuna,

Allah sanya sun zauna,

Zuciyarku marar ƙuna,

Ma yawaita ciki murna,

 Gaskiya sak, ba shakka.

 

Kun shina tuni ma an ce,

Damina in ta kauce,

Arzuka kuwa sun goce,

Addu’armu ta mece ce?

 Allah ba mu ruwan shuka.

 

Damina mai ban samu,

Mai yawan jinƙai, Ummu,

Tallafe mu, ki goye mu,

Ba abin da ya dame mu,

 Kin raba mu da rarauka. 

The book “Cimakar Bahaushe” (Diets of the Hausa People) is a collection of 293 traditional and modern diets of the Hausa people. Detailed explanations of the recipes and ingredients are provided. Comments are provided on the areas of the Hausa land where specific diets are mostly found, the age categories of people that usually use it, as well as the scientific impact of some of the diets to human biology.  Data is collected from interviews with different categories of people including:  i.                    Food sellers within the Hausa land: Mainly to have an idea of recipes on the diets.  ii.                  People of older age: Mainly to have insights on traditional diets of the Hausas.  iii.               Hausa scholars: Mainly to verify and justify the validity of the information obtained as well as provide further expert explanations on the diets.  Moreover, over two hundred (200) pieces of literature were reviewed to have better insight on the topic in question as well as get scientific and professional clarifications on some key concepts relevant to the research. The pieces of literature cover major relevant phenomena such as diet and hunger. Others are on the Hausa land and the Hausas.  The book contains thirty-three (33) chapters. Chapter one is the main introduction in which a concise explanation is provided on the Hausas, their history, their land, social life, and transformations due to globalization, acculturation, and modernity. Chapter two detailly discusses the concepts of diet and food from the Hausa point of view. That includes the meaning and the usage of diets in some Hausa works of literature both verbal and written (i.e. prose, poetry, proverbs, etc.).  Chapters three and four discuss the sources of Hausa diets and their forms accordingly. Chapters five to seventeen discuss some traditional Hausa diets including hard and soft ones. Chapter eighteen concentrates on the influence of modernity and globalization on Hausa diets. It has been discovered that there have been some significant changes in the Hausa diets ranging from recipes to kitchenettes.  Chapters nineteen to thirty-two discuss modern Hausa diets. Some traditional diets are still retained with little modifications, while on the other hand, there are a lot of new ones. Chapter thirty-three discusses “hunger” from the Hausa point of view. The relationship between hunger and food is examined. Additionally, the use of hunger in various Hausa literary works is studied. It is concluded that hunger is like a disease whereby its cure is food.  7th November 2022
