Bayyanar addinin Musulunci a farfajiyar ƙasar Hausa, shi ya kawo wanzuwar sunayen ranakun mako, waɗanda da can babu. Kafin zuwan Musulunci, Hausawa sukan yi amfani da lokutan da kasuwar garuruwa ne ke ci a wajen lissafinsu ko yi wa abin haihuwa laƙabi. Misali, wanda aka haifa ranar Talata, sai su kira shi Ɗanmafara. Idan kuma lissafin ranaku ne, sai a dinga faɗar ranar kasuwar Katsina, ko Daura, ko Kiyawa, ko Zariya, ko kuma Kano da sauransu. Samuwar sunayen mako a ƙasar Hausa, ya samar da wani sabon tsarin lissafin ranakun mako ya kuma ba Bahaushe wata dama ta yi wa yaron ko yarinyar da aka haifa masa laƙabi da suna na ranar haihuwarsa/ta. Irin waɗannan sunayen akwai waɗanda suka jiɓinci maza da kuma mata, kamar yadda za a gani ɗaya bayan ɗaya:

Daɗin daɗawa,
bayan irin waɗannan sunayen da aka samar ta la’akari
da ranakun da aka yi haihuwar. Akwai wasu na yanka da ake sa wa abin haihuwa da suke
da alaƙa da ranar da aka haihu saboda wasu dalilai na ma’ana. Misali,
ɗan
da aka haifa ranar Juma’a akan sanya masa suna Adamu (Adam)
in mace ce a sa mata suna Hauwa’u (Eve),
saboda Juma’a ce ranar farko
ta mako.
Yayin da aka haifi yarinya ranar Talata, akan yi mata laƙabi da suna Baturiya. Wannan na nuni da cewa, ita mai arziki ce kamar yarinya Baturiya. An ɗora
(aza) wannan ne bisa ma’aunin kalmar talata wadda take ƙunshe
da ma’anar dubu uku na kuɗin wuri (3000) waɗanda
a zamanin da kuɗi
ne masu yawa, kamar yadda Newman (2000 p. 345) ya nuna.
