The Duration Of Menses

Assalamualaikum. My question is that I am facing long periods since one year.. my period starts same day monthly but continue 14 days.. for seven days bleeding color is red after 7 days it's color changes from red to dark brown and black and blood flow also low..after day 10 it's color changes from dark brown to light brown or yellow.. when should I took bath or start praying. And can in this state intercourse is forbidden? I m much worried about this issue..

All perfect praise be to Allah.

As long as the total number of the menses' days does not exceed fifteen, all the fourteen days in which you see blood in any color are considered from your menses. That is because the lengthiest duration for menses is fifteen days. So, if the woman experiences days of menses more than her usual habit, these days are considered from her menses, too. As such, you should take a ritual bath after your purification from menses, that is, after the stoppage of blood on the fourteenth day and you should then observe the prayer.
