As-Salaam Alaykum Waramatullah Wabarakatuh
The blessed ten days of Dhul Hajj are almost here! Are you
ready with your plans for the deeds you will perform during these sacred days?
If you haven't planned yet, now is the time to do so, as these days will pass quickly, and you might miss the opportunity to maximize your rewards. Remember, failing to plan is planning to fail.
This is your chance to engage in acts of worship and earn
immense rewards from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. The deeds performed during
these ten days carry greater rewards than even fighting in the cause of Allah.
Here are some suggested deeds to help you make the most of
these blessed days:
1. Show Love to Your Parents: Smile at them, kiss them, hug
them, and make them feel special, just as they did when you were children.
2. Be Dutiful to Your Parents: Remember that being undutiful
to parents is a major sin, second only to shirk (associating partners with
Allah).
3. Feed the Birds and Animals: Provide water, grains, milk,
etc., to birds and cats.
4. Distribute Cold Water: Give cold water to those working
under the sun, such as laborers, cleaners, your staff, or passersby.
5. Pray on Time: Attend Salah (prayer) punctually, read the
Quran as much as possible, and listen to beneficial lectures.
6. Visit the Sick and Elderly: Spend time visiting patients
and elderly relatives, and feed those in need.
7. Fast for Nine Days: Try to fast all nine days. Each day
of fasting distances you from Jahannum (Hell) by 70 years and helps you avoid
haram (forbidden) activities, Insha'Allah.
8. Fast on the Day of Arafah: If you cannot fast all nine
days, at least fast on the Day of Arafah, which expiates sins for two years.
9. Recite Dua on Arafah: On the Day of Arafah, recite the
dua beloved to Allah: "Laa ilaha illallahu wahdahu laa sharikalahu lahul
mulku walahul hamdu wahuwa ala kullishaiin qadeer."
10. Give Sadaqa (Charity): Be generous in giving charity
during these days.
11. Avoid Music and Filth: Stay away from music, video
songs, and all impure content on the internet.
12. Limit Social Media Use: Don’t waste time on Facebook or
other social media platforms that consume your valuable time.
13. Engage in Dawah: Guide non-Muslim brothers and sisters
towards the truth, even if it is just one verse.
14. Read the Qur'an: Continuously read the Qur'an throughout
these days.
15. Spread the Word: Share this message with others, as many
may not be aware of the significance of these days or might be preoccupied with
less important matters.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, "These are
the best days in our Dunya" — the first ten days of Dhul Hajj.
🤲 Oh Allah, guide us all
and strengthen our Imaan. Aamin.
