Four female writers from Ghana and Nigeria have arrived Iseyin, Nigeria for the June/July 2023 Edition of the Ebedi International Writers Residency.

The writers are Left to Right in the above picture:  Evelyn Addai Acheampong (Ghana) Justine Perfect Alorwu (Ghana) Princess Miracle Attah (Nigeria) and Chidinma Mary Ndukwo ( Nigeria)

In addition to their individual Writing Projects, the Writers will also mentor Secondary school students in Iseyin during their 4 week stay.

The Ebedi International Writers Residency is a private initiative for the free use of Writers in need of a conducive environment to complete their ongoing works.

Since its establishment in 2010, the facility has hosted 190 Writers from 12 African Countries.

The current class of female residents has been sponsored by the ABOVE WHISPERS FOUNDATION established by the eminent feminist thinker, gender specialist, policy advocate and writer, Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi.

Erelu Fayemi is a long standing friend of the Ebedi Residency and we are delighted with this collaboration which will facilitate the sponsorship of  female writers in various residences at Ebedi in 2023.

Bisi Fayemi is the author of 'Speaking above a Whisper' (2013) 'Speaking for myself (2013) 'Loud Whispers' (2017) and 'Where is your Wrapper' (2020).
